Icebergs - Banawe

My college friends and I had a dinner get together at Icebergs just so to be at a different environment. It is usually me who would tell them where to eat but we would usually end up at Teriyaki Boy because it's just near my office work and I really really love their Tuna Sashimi Tempura Tartare. Anyway going back to Icebergs...

I ordered their chili fries which is bland.. the sauce is boring and it is better to dip in ketchup! hehe. About the portion it's good for sharing.

Fish and chips and Clubhouse had no taste also! My friend kept on pouring Knorr Seasoning instead. HAHA

And for the Grilled chicken caesar salad which I missed to take a shot... my friend said it's quite okay...

I believe that iceberg is just for ice desserts..

Sumo Sam - Trinoma

I tried Sumo Sam before at Powerplant Mall but wasn't satisfied with their food. It's pricey and the taste is just usual.

So I had another chance to try their menu with my family at Trinoma. It is located at where former Ruby Tuesday restaurant. Too bad I haven't tried Ruby Tuesday yet.

Anyway, we ordered steamed and fried gyoza ( oily! it's like been re-dipped in oil after frying)

followed by MAKIs!!! California maki (topped with kani and mayo and Dynamite Rol topped with salmon mayo. I can feel the heat more of Teriyaki Boy's dynamite roll.

Now, my brother ordered 2 kinds of fried rice. One is the Japanese fried which we didn't like because it was bland.. and the other is Meat fried rice! Meat fried rice is composed of chopped sausade, bacon and carrots. It was just like what my mom cooked for us 15 years ago! I realized that we should have a restaurant for our home cooked comfort food! Anyway, it was way too oily!

Chicken yakitori was fine, nothing special

Mt. Fuji was worth to try. Sliced beef steak with french fries smothered with mushroom gravy. TASTY!

Grilled pepper chicken - dry a little bland but I like the taste of smokeyness

Tofu Steak

Tempura
The waiter was supposed to give us Grill Prawns but he took a wrong order from us, instead tempura was on our table.

Tazo's CHAI

Bought this one at S&R The Fort at around P400? It is concentrated Chai tea. What you need to do is just simmer or heat it up and pour same amount of milk into it. I used soy milk instead. It's just like your having tea from Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf! Worth buying for if your a chai lover. sometimes the spice is too strong for me.. or maybe I should have made it a frappe instead! ;P

baconette strips

Oishi made a bacon flavored snack that made me remember one my childhood snack in school's break time. During those time was Jack and Jill's Bacon Strips. Taste really like bacon but crumbly/airy. But after few years, I didn't see this product ever again until recently but from Oishi. As I walked through the grocery aisle and saw Baconette Strips, I quickly grabbed one.

The texture is better than Jack and Jill's but of the same 'baconey goodness' taste! Love this product and I hope they won't phase it out!

Gerry's Grill - Banawe

Had sunday family dinner at Gerry's and of course what not to miss ordering is the pork sisig! For our appetizer,we ordered chicken skin ( i know! it's too bad for the health, but sometimes we can't resist things that are bad for us! :D), chili sticks ( that made my eyes watery) the first 3 bites are fine but then later on you can feel the heat! I consumed almost half of the portion because none of my family would want to eat it anymore!

For our main are --- pork sisig which is delicious. Beef casserole is also a must try at Gerry's. It is gravied beef strips and mushroom and mashed potatoes with melted cheese on top that was baked. Followed by crispy tadyang which the waitress insisted because they have a promo that is cheaper i think by P40 and crispy plapla that I didn't like because they marinated the fish and the sauce (soysauce with vinegar) with sugar.

We wanted to order Kinunot which is chunks of stingray meat cooked in coconut milk but it was not available at that time. I tried that before and it was good.

I ordered their bottomless sago't gulaman which is always too sweet for me that I would ask for crushed ice.

We had a 10% discount in our bill because my dad is a 'text subscriber' of the UBE NEWS!

Ersao and Octoboy for dinner

Because i felt full, I asked my mom to buy me Ersao coffee milk tea and Octoboy's takoyaki for my dinner.

Ersao was my comfort drink especially when I was still studying way back early 2000's. My usual orders are Green mango shake and watermelon shake for fruits, and for the tea - taro milk tea (sometimes too sweet, they are not consistent), coffee milk tea, and plain green tea with extra pearl. Their snacks are good also like spicy pork and squid. Nowadays, they also sell Taiwanese noodle soup and other Taiwanese food.

Octoboy's takoyaki opened last year located right beside Ersao. The very first Octoboy's takoyaki i tasted was last year and kept on craving on it. What's special with their takoyaki is they put cheese in it. They have 3 kinds of flavors for their takoyaki - pork, squid and shrimp. . I tried them all but i still prefer squid. Their pork is just sliced ham which is a little sweet for me and their shrimp is not that fresh anymore when I tried it. With my dinner, I felt that it wasn't the same tasty and delicious as before already. I didn't even taste the cheese inside.
